Saturday Scents #2

Hello!

Another Saturday, another scent!

This week I have been really loving Taylor Swift - Wonderstruck.

You may have seen this featured in my March Fav's and I still love this! Its so girly and flirty!!

Here's what this scent is described as

"The fragrance composition is described as a charming gourmand – floral with sparkling fruity tones on a wooden background. The top notes are raspberry, dewberry, green tea, freesia and apple blossom. The heart features sweet vanilla along with sundrenched honeysuckle and white hibiscus. Notes of golden amber, musk, sandalwood and peach are in the base."

Now usually I hate anything that strongly smells of vanilla as I find it too sickly, but this is so nice!
I have worn this to school pretty much every day this week and I have got several compliments on it! (sign of a good perfume!)

Also can we talk about the packaging of this! It's so pretty, and I love the colour, and just generally everything about it! As I only have the 30ml bottle, I didn't get the charm around the lid, but I've seen photos of that, and it looks gorgeous! The box it came in was equally gorgeous as well so if you want to see that, head over to my march favourites!

So that's what i've been loving this week!

What scent have you been wearing the most this week?

My Thoughts On Collection 2000 Lasting Perfection Concealer

Hey guys!

Sorry I didn't post yesterday, but I've been really busy with school work so forgive me!

Today I am going to share with you my thoughts on the product that gets everyone all hyped up- Collection 2000 Lasting Perfection Concealer.

I don't know why I refrained on getting this for so long, but nonetheless, I have it now- so all is well!

I have this in the lightest shade (fair) and it's a good match for my skin. This claims to last for up to 16 hours, now I don't know about that but I find it lasts pretty well.

If I am having a 'good skin day' then I can get away with this and some powder but usually I will use it after my foundation. I use it on blemishes and under my eyes. If I put too much on under my eyes, it can get a bit cakey but for the most part it does pretty well.

This concealer is very creamy, and easy to blend  which I like a lot as with previous concealers this has always been a problem. This doesn't really do that great on those flaming red spots (sounds nice... vicious) but if you build it up, you can get a decent amount of coverage.

Overall I think that you can't really go wrong for the price of £4.19. It's cheap and works well. :)

What's your fave concealer?

My Top 10 Most Reached For Products!

Hello Again :D

Today I thought I'd share with you what my top ten most reached for products are. I've seen this floating around as a 'Tag' so if you want to make a post like this, then feel free!

Makeup

1. E.L.F. Eye Brightening Eyeliner in Coffee

I use this pencil for my eyebrows every single day, and it just works really well. It's a nice colour and isn't too dramatic. Also it's really cheap:D

2. Maybelline The Rocket Mascara

I love this mascara, and recently I have been reaching for it a lot. Its really great for giving definition to your lashes and it makes them really black- which I like alot. Also I'm a fan of the slightly tapered brush it has.

3. Collection 2000 Lasting Perfection Concealer in fair

I really like this concealer. It's high coverage and it lasts all day which is a plus. I use this on blemishes, and occasionally under my eyes (if i'm looking like a panda) I'm pretty sure everyone and their cat has heard about this concealer so I won't bang on about it!

4. Rimmel Stay Matte Pressed Powder

If you've been following my blog for a while you will know I love this powder! It's just really great at keeping your face matte all day long without looking cakey or chalky. It also helps set my makeup which is greaaaaaaat!

5. MUA Undressed Eyeshadow Pallette

I have loved this baby so much, and as you can see I have hit pan on a few of the shades. This is my go to eyeshadow pallette *Although it might get a bit neglected if mr naked pallette walks into my life*  The lid has come off of mine, but I have had it for absolutely ages! It's cheap and cheerful!

General Beauty Stuff

6. TreSemme Heat Defence Styling Spray

This is a really great heat defence spray and I use it when I curl/straighten my hair. I like that it comes out as more of a mist rather than a squirt of product. Also it doesn't make your hair go crusty and the smell is pleasant.

7. The Body Shop Sweet Lemon Hand Sanitizer

I wouldn't say I'm a germaphobe as such, but I hate it when my hands are dirty. I keep this in my blazer pocket at school because 99% of the time the toilets in my school will have run out of soap and quite frankly they are disgusting...  I like the smell of this, and it works! All my friends ask me to use it so must be a winner ;) (Makes my school sound really great :L)

8. Superdrug Concentrated Hand Balm

This is literally my saviour! My hands get sooo dry, so I like to use this to soften them, and inject some moisture into them. It has quite a heavy consistency as it is a balm, but I like that because it makes me feel like i'm really nourishing them. Also the scent is quite strong, and it smells sort of like baby powder so if you don't like this then steer clear of this!

9. Clearasil Deep Cleansing Wipes

I just generally like makeup wipes in general to be honest. I don't have a favourite but I'm liking these ones at the moment. I use this to remove my makeup.

10. Blistex Daily Lip Conditioner

I use this religiously every morning and every night without fail! It keeps my lips really soft and it actually lasts. It feels nicer on the lips than vaseline does, and In my opinion it works better to!!

So there you have it! My top 10 most reached for products. Obviously I haven't included the obvious like deodorant, soap, shampoo etc etc.

If you have a blog then feel free to make a post about your most reached for products!!

What is your most used product?

The Sunday Post #2

Hello.

I am going to treat last weeks Chitter Chatter as the Sunday Post #1 because It was on a Sunday so yeah!

This is the post where I kind of just ramble on about anything and everything just because I can. Haha!!

This week was my last week of the easter holidays so I've been revising, and just chilling out. Some of you may know that I got a job interview this week! (It's for a shoe shop! *I say no more*) It's tomorrow so I'm kinda nervous as it's my first proper interview! I have my outfit planned, so maybe I'll get mum to take a quick pic before I go so I can do an OOTD! (I might forget, so don't hold me to this!) If any of you have any tips for interviews, then it would be gladly appreciated!!

I'm going back to school tomorrow (boooooooo) But as I'm year 11 it's only for 6 weeks. Mind you- the six weeks is going to be absolutely hell but hopefully it goes quickly. (who am I kidding- it's gunna be the worst 6 weeks of my life!)  Bring on College is what I say!

I had my prom hair and make-up trial the other day and I think I'm going to re-book a hair appointment because I liked it at the time, but looking back at the photo's I was just like ohhhh dear god! I don't like it much at all! And as for the makeup- don't get me started! I'm not hating on the lady who did it (really Lauren, sounds like you love her... not.) but she used the most orange foundation on me EVER. She said she was going to get a lighter one but still- It's put me on edge!! So yeah, instead of being excited for prom I'm more nervous/ scared. Okay, rant over.

Soo yeah. I think that's about all I have to say really. It's my birthday in 9 days so that's pretty exciting! I hope your all having a lovely Sunday, and enjoy the week ahead! I should be posting on Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday, and Sunday so keep your eyes peeled!

Do you have any advice for interviews?

Saturday Scents #1

Hey guys!

I'm going to start a mini series here on my blog, where every Saturday I'll tell you my favourite scent of the week, or the one I have been wearing the most!

So without further ado, here is the scent I've been loving to spritz onto myself this week!

This is the Hollister Body Mist in the scent 'Crystal Cove' (the green one)
Now this may seem a little bleergh to some of you but I love this! It's so easy to spray on, and I love the smell! It reminds me of summer, and the beach and I just can't get enough of this smell!

I also like it because it brings back memories of when I went to france with my school, because all the girls in my room would borrow this, and our room just constantly smelt like this! (Wasn't a bad thing!)

I got this for Christmas, and I'm pretty sure I have sprayed it every day, and its still going strong! I love all the scents in Hollister- but this is my favourite! It's quite fruity, and sweet but also floral (I'm awful at describing scents!!)

This Retails for £12 which I don't personally think is that bad, considering it lasts for ages!!

What scent have you been loving this week?

My Current Skincare Routine | April 2013

Hello Again :)

You may have seen in my 'Top 5 Beauty Tips' post, that I mentioned you should have a skin care routine. I thought It would only be fair to show you what I'm currently using at the moment. All of this stuff is from the drugstore, so it doesn't have to break your bank!

Makeup Removal

Currently I am using these facial wipes from Skin Therapy. They are not really anything special, but they do the job for me. If I'm not using wipes, I like to use a Micellar Water but I've run out at the moment.

Cleansing

Every other day in the morning I will use the St Ives Scrub, but If i'm not using that, I use a mixture of the Neutrogena visibly clear 2-in-1 Mask with a little bit of the Garnier Pure Active Exfo-Brusher Wash. I do this, because I'm not a big fan of the brush bit on the Garnier one, but it has salicylic acid (helps to clear spots a bit better) in whereas the Neutrogena one doesn't.

Toning & Moisturizing

After I wash my face, I squirt some of the Garnier Fresh Essentials Refreshing Toner onto a cotton pad and sweep it over my face. After that, I will apply the appropriate face cream depending on if it's the daytime or night time (Simple Kind To Skin Vital Vitamin Day Cream or Simple Kind To Skin Vital Vitamin Night Cream) After that I apply my eye cream which is Avon's Ageless Bloom Eye Cream *I know I don't need an ageless eye cream, but I just like how this works*  If I have a particularly bad spot, I apply some of the Vichy Normaderm Hyaluspot Cream which helps them to calm down.

So that's about it really! I hope you liked this post :) This is just a disclaimer to say that next week I won't be posting every day content as I am going back to school, but I will still be posting so don't worry! :D

What do you use everyday for your skin?

Tangle Teezer, Worth The Hype?

Hiya!

Today I am going to be discussing whether I think the Tangle Teezer is really worth all the hype it's given.

Here's what the Tangle Teezer website say about their product.

Tangle Teezer Original professional detangling hairbrush is loved by hairdressers and used in professional hair salons. It's a super smooth operator that works the minute hair is lathered and rinsed. Glides through wet, vulnerable and colour treated hair with no pulling, tugging or yanking. Hair peace at last!

I picked up mine in Boots for £10.99. You might think this is a tad on the pricey side, but is it worth it? Yes. A million times yes!!

I love this brush! I have quite long hair and I used to notice that everytime I brushed it, a substantial amount of hair fell out with the brush! Also everytime I got out of the shower my hair used to be so tangly!!

When I first tried this brush I really was pleasantly surprised! It's so gentle on your hair yet it still gets rid of all the tangles! *wonder how many times I'm going to say tangled in this post! ;) *

Excuse my naff photo!

You can see that there are a mixture of long and short bristles, which is different to any hairbrush I own.

I like that this is so easy to hold, and so gentle! Another thing that is great about it, is that if you wear your hair up alot and want to smooth it down, you can do that with this brush and it wont ruin your hairstyle. It's painfree as well, so you dont find yourself dreading brushing your hair.

Strangely, this is also quite good at creating volume in your hair. If you backcomb your hair at the roots a little bit, then it creates lot of volume!

Overall I do really like this brush a lot. Do you really need it? I don't think if you have really short hair that this brush would make a whole of a lot of difference, but if you have long tangley hair, then I would say it's worth a try! I think it's worth a try for anyone who struggles with tangley hair.

I think this brush has saved my hair (cringe) and it certainly has helped with breakages!

You can buy the Tangle Teezer for £10.99 at Boots, but I'm sure you can find one cheaper online.

Have you tried the Tangle Teezer?

Dainty Doll Blushes Haul!

Hello!

I have been seeing a lot of hype surrounding dainty doll products in the blogosphere recently, and Fragrance Direct are having a crazzzyyy sale on them at the moment! I got these two blushes for £1.99 each! Love a good bargain I do ;)

This brand of makeup is designed by Nicola Roberts (as I'm a Girls Aloud fan, this was just an extra reason to get them!) and it is targeted at ladies with pale skin. Now can we just talk about this packaging?! I LOVE IT. As I have ginger hair this just appeals to me!

Now, I'm not to sure why one is 'blusher' and one is 'powder blusher' but they are both powders so yeah!

The blush to the left is 003 Money Talks and the one to the right is 002 My Girl.
Money Talks is a light bronzey colour which will be great for contouring! My Girl is a soft pink shade, which will look good in spring I think! Usually light pink blushes don't really suit me- but we'll see!

Now you are going to have to excuse my extremely veiny hand here, but here are the swatches of the blushes!

Left- Money Talks
Right- My Girl

So yeah! These were a bargain at just £1.99 each so If you're interested I would skoot on over to the website now! I will review these when I have had a good amount of time to test them out!

In more personal news- I got a Job interview today! I'm so excited, I can't even tell you :D

What's your favourite blusher?

My Top 5 Beauty Tips!

Hello you lovely people!

For today's post, I thought I'd do something a little different. I'm going to share with you my top 5 beauty tips, some of them you may have known, maybe some of them you won't but chat aside, lets jump straight in!

Get yourself a Skincare Routine.

You probably are aware of this, but it is vital that you have a skin care routine! A basic one should consist, of Cleanse, Tone, and Moisturize. But it's best to have an exfoliater as well. This doesn't have to cost you the world, (in fact there are some great drugstore skincare items, all my skincare stuff is drugstore!) But cleansing your skin properly makes your makeup sit better, and also gets rid of dirt which prevents acne!

Have 'No Makeup' Days.

Set aside one day a week where you are not going to wear any makeup. If you are not going anywhere, then don't put any makeup on. Your Skin will thank you for it! It gives your skin a break, which helps it to breathe. I have been doing this lately and I have seen a difference in my skin!

Exfoliate Your Lips!

Recently my lips got so dry and disgusting it literally made me sad to look in a mirror (it really was that bad- I kid you not.) I recommend using a lip scrub at least once every other day before bed to scrub away dead skin cells and make your lips super smooth! (lip products look better on smooth lips- especially dark colours!) I like to use the Lush Bubblegum lip scrub and then slather my lips with vaseline before bed. Alternatively you can use your toothbrush to rub over your lips, or make your own scrub with sugar and honey!

Curl your lashes before mascara.

Curling your lashes before you apply mascara makes you look much more alert and awake. It also gives your lashes a gorgeous curl and makes your mascara go on better. I can't wear mascara without doing this now! Its best to curl them before your mascara so you don't tug on them too much.  You can get eyelash curlers really cheaply online.

Set your eyebrows with hairspray!

Stay with me! If you don't have a fancy brow setting gel, then a simple way to make sure your brows don't budge is to set them with hairspray! Simply spray some hairspray onto a spooly (or an old mascara wand- make sure it's clean though!) And brush through your brows. Think about it, our eyebrows are hair and we use hairspray in our hair *wow Lauren, best observation ever* So it makes sense!

I could probably think of a lot more, but these ones sprung to mind. Maybe in the future I will make a new list!

What's your top beauty tip?

OOTN: Skirt and Converse

Hey,

The other night I went to go and watch one of my friends perform in a show (his YouTube) and I thought I'd show you what I wore.

Blue Jumper is from Primark.
Black Skater Skirt is from TopShop
My Tights are from Matalan

And these bad boys are my beloved converse! I love converse, and they are so comfortable.
I designed them myself and I got them as a Christmas present in 2011. Also I decided that my outfit was a bit plain, so I added a long necklace from primark which unfortunately I haven't photographed!

If you are interested in personalizing your own pair of converse then here is their website - link

I hope you enjoyed this post! I have a question for you guys!

What kind of blog posts do you most like to read? I would really love to know! :D

Review | Benefit They're Real! Mascara

(picture from asos.com)

Hey!

After mentioning this in my March Fav's I've decided I'll do a review for you guys!

At first, I really wasn't too keen on this mascara, If i'm totally honest, so it got chucked to the back of my drawer. However for some reason I have fallen in love with it after digging it out again!!

I love this because it makes my lashes stand out (obviously- don't all mascaras do this?)  and they look really long and voluminous.

Here's what benefit say:

It's the mascara that's beyond belief! This jet-black mascara lengthens, curls, volumises, lifts & seperates lashes for a spectacular "out-to-here" look.

I do agree with this. Another thing I love about this is that it stays on my lashes all day! Normally I dread looking in the mirror after school because throughout the day my mascara will have smudged and I'm left with some major panda eyes- however not with this mascara. It doesn't smudge onto my bottom lash line, and holds a curl really well!!

The brush is rounded at the top making it easy to get to the inner lashes, and also it makes appyling mascara to the bottom lashes a lot easier!

I'm going to show you some before and after photos (please excuse my eyebrows and veiny eyelid- attractive.)

Before

After

(I am aware I probably could have applied this better- but you get the gist!)

I'm really impressed, but is this for you?

I think it is if you want a mascara that will not smudge, and really lengthens your lashes. This is good at providing volume, however I prefer their Bad Gal Lash for that.

Funny story- At a dance show once, I had applied two coats of this and someone actually said to me " Wow! Are you wearing fake eyelashes?" Pardon the pun... ;) (it's called they're real... thought it was 'punny')

Overall I'm going to give this a 4.5/5 because I feel it could be more volumising, but this is my go to mascara at the moment!

They're Real Mascara Available to buy here, (£19.50- although I think you might be able to get this cheaper if you search around!)

Lust List #2

Hello!

A couple of weeks ago, I made a Lust List post with some things I was lusting for! (Click here to go to Lust List #1) I still am lusting over them (story of my life) but the post was a little iffy...

I've made a second Lust List because as I have been getting into blogging more, I have been seeing things that I think -"oooh.. i definitaley need this!"
Obviously I don't but hey! A girl can dream. Here are some things I am lusting for!

Mac Book Pro (£999 available to purchase here)

This won't be in my possession for a lonnnngggg time, but I am going to try my very hardest to put away some money each month towards this beauty. I really want one, as they look so sophisticated, and I just think they're really cool.

Revlon Colorburst LipButter Wild Watermelon (£7.99, Purchase here)

I have 2 shades of these lip butters already (Tutti Frutti & Berry Smoothie,) but this one really takes my fancy! I recently saw a blog post by Bethany (Bethany's Blog) and she had swatched this- and I think I fell in love! Yes you can fall in love with a product ;)

Estee Lauder Signature Hydra Lustre Lipstick 69 Blackberry (£20 buy here)

I had my prom hair and makeup trial today, and the lady doing my makeup used this shade on my lips. It's very different to what I am used to, but I really liked it and I think if I can get used to wearing a bold lip colour, then I won't feel so different at prom. (Also she said I suited dark lip colours soooo..:P)

Max Factor False Lash Effect Mascara Waterproof (£10.99 Purchase here)

On YouTube, I see this being compared to the infamous covergirl lash blast mascara, so I would like to give this a go. Also as summer is coming up, I want the waterproof one, to make sure it stays put all day :)

Tan Lace Up Wedges (£22.99 Available to purchase here)

I saw these in New Look the other day, and I just think they would look really pretty for summer, on a night out or something. I never usually go for wedges so it's a bit different.

Real Techniques Core Collection (£21.99 Purchase here)

I really want to try the real techniques brushes as there is a lot of hype around them currently, and I've been eyeing them for a long time.

What do you really want at the moment?
