REVIEW: Rimmel London Kate Moss Lipsticks 08 +107

So, if you saw my Autumn Makeup Staples post, you may have seen these two lipsticks mentioned. I recently got these from Superdrug for £5.49 which is amazingly good as these are very high quality lippies!

107 (left) 08 (right)

As you can see, Shade 08 is more pinky/neutral toned compared with 107, which is berry toned.

Lets start off with packaging. Shade 08 is in a black tube as it is part of the original Kate Moss line with Rimmel, and also as it doesn't have a matte finish. Shade 107 on the other hand, does have a matte finish. Both have Kate Moss' signature on the lid which I think looks really cool.
They don't feel cheap in your hands, and they feel as if they would be good for travelling with. Personally, I really like the packaging of these Lipsticks, and I like how the stickers at the bottom are roughly the same colour as the lipstick, as it makes it easier to find what you are looking for.

Shade 08

I really like this shade for every day wear, as it is a 'my lips but better' shade for me. The finish is not overly shiny, and it isn't overly glittery either. It isn't the smoothest lipstick to apply, however it isn't difficult and I find that it lasts on the lips for roughly 2 hours. It isn't the most long lasting lipstick in the world, but personally I don't mind that!

I like wearing this in the daytime, but you can also wear it in the evening if you pair it with a nice smokey eye! Personally, I'm pants at smokey eyes, but I can do neutral ones so i'll stick with those ;)

Shade 107

As you can see, this is a lot darker than 08. The finish is Matte, but I think you would have to blot this to get it perfectly matte, because as you can see there is a iddy biddy squiddy bit of shine to it. This lipstick will be great for the party season, as its so bold, but not tacky.

I really love it, but haven't really had any occasion to wear it yet! Hopefully I'll find somewhere to rock this shade soon!

For the price (£5.49) I don't think you can complain with these lipsticks. They are very pigmented and both of the swatches, I've only used one coat of lipstick. The colour range is quite broad, so you are bound to find something to your taste. Speaking of taste, both of these lipsticks smell quite fruity/vanillaey (pretty sure that is a made up word Lauren!) But it doesn't linger.

Overall I'd give these lipsticks a 4/5

Have you tried any of the Kate Moss Lipsticks, What did you think?

So... This happened... (Helix Diary)

So this weekend, I got my Helix (top bit of your ear) pierced!

I have wanted it for a while (like 2-3 years!) and I have just never plucked up the courage to get it done, but I had been researching it for ages, and thought you know what? I'm just going to do it.

I got it done with a needle as I read many bad things about piercing guns, and didn't want to take the risk of ruining my cartilage.  I didn't really feel nervous about the pain as people were saying it didn't hurt much, but In real life when I asked people they said "OH MY GOD IT HURTS SO MUCH" so I didn't really know what to expect.

I have inserted a video of me getting it pierced to show you my reaction to it! I found that it didn't hurt me at all, and it was over so quick you didn't really have a chance to feel it! Anyway, excuse the poor quality and my gross hair, and I act stupidly awkward but watch the video :) (btw there is no gory bits so dont worry!)

As you can see it didn't seem to phase me at all, which I was surprised at! The lady doing it was really nice, and I thought I was going to be really intimidated but I wasn't! The place that I went to were having a 'Buy one piercing, get one free' offer but I didn't really want another piercing so they gave me a free cleaning spray instead.

I was told to clean it morning and night, and to try not to touch it. If I do want to touch it, I have to wash my hands first, because I wouldn't want bacteria to get into it, and risk getting an infection...

*excuse my gross hair*

Out of 5, I'd probably say it was 1.5/5 It felt hot, but she used freezing spray so I really didn't feel it at all! If you are thinking about getting it done, and have any questions, feel free to leave them below!

I thought I would do a 'Helix Diary' which I will keep coming back to, in case over time I have any problems or something. If you are interested, then keep checking back at this post as I will try to update it, if something interesting happens!

Day 1 19.10.2013

I got my helix pierced today! It wasn't as painful as I thought, but you probably know that by now haha! Straight after I left the shop, it just felt really hot, but nothing too extreme! I would reccomend eating before you get it done, because I have heard that you might pass out if you don't! Probably not worth the risk. A couple of hours later, I was out eating dinner with my friends, and It still felt hot, but it also hurt a little. Not drastically, it was more of an ache, but again, it was nothing too bad. I cleaned it before bed and I think sleeping could be a challenge as I don't want to sleep on it but I'll update that tomorrow morning!

Day 2 20.10.2013

I woke up, and it hurt a little but I suppose that was as I had been asleep and might have knocked it without me knowing. I cleaned it, and that seemed to help. Sleeping wasn't as bad as I thought but everytime I rolled over onto my left side, I could feel an achey sort of pain so I mainly stayed on my right side! It doesn't feel hot any more, and I know it is there, as it aches a bit but again, nothing too drastic. I have to be careful when I'm putting my hair up, or brushing it as I don't want to catch it! Yikes that would hurt!

Day 4 22.10.2013

Today I woke up, and when I cleaned my piercing a bit of blood came off on the cotton wool, and throughout the day today it has been a bit sore. I must've bumped it in the night! Oops:/

Autumn Makeup Staples 2013

Hey guys,

I'm in the mood for blogging today, so I am going to write up about 4 posts for you and spread them out through the week, so YAY for productivity!

So, when it comes to Autumn I like to switch out what makeup I use as firstly, it's an excuse to use different makeup, and also I feel a tad more experimental in Autumn, this is one of the many reasons I love Autumn the most! Anyway, lets move on..

Face

In the Autumn, I prefer my skin to look slightly more dewy as I think that it looks really pretty and fresh. I love using Revlon Photoready Foundation as it has medium coverage, and has a really nice finish. It isn't overly matte or overly dewey. Also, as the name would suggest, It looks good in photos:)

I like using rose-gold blushes in Autumn as again, it gives a nice flush to the cheeks which makes you look really healthy. The Sleek Blush By Three Palette in Lace has really gorgeous colours! They might look a little scary in the pan, but if you use them lightly, you can always build up if you feel you need it! I have put a little leaf (how autumnal!) on the middle shade, as it is the one I grab for the most!

Eyes

In Autumn, it's good to use some darker colours, it's fun to experiment and if you don't really feel that confident, then experiment at home! See what looks good on you. Eyeshadow wise, I like using the Maybelline 24 Hr Colour Tattoo in On and On Bronze either as a base if i'm going for something more dramatic, or on its own if I want it to look more natural. MAC Haute & Naughty Too Black Lash mascara is a really great one for this season, as it is extremely pigmented, and this works well when you are using more dramatic colours.  I love Urban Decay Naked Palette all year round, but in the picture below, I've highlighted some shades that I think look great in Autumn.

Sidecar, Smog and Toasted are all beautiful shades, and they all also work very well with the colour tattoo that I mentioned earlier.

I love lining my upper lash line with a dark brown eyeliner, and these two are the ones I reach for most.

The top swatch is MAC Pro Longwear Eyeliner in Rich Experience, which is a very dark chocolatey brown colour, which I think would work well with a lot of eye colours. The bottom swatch is Urban Decay 24/7 Glide On Eyeliner in Corrupt which is a brown with flecks of subtle glitter in. Both of these have amazing staying power, so If lining your upper lash line 'aint your thang (random outburst of slang, I don't even know.) , they would stay put on the waterline as well!

Lips

Lipstick is a very personal preference kind of thing, but I have picked out some shades which I think everyone could try, or maybe get some ideas. Rimmel Kate Moss Lipstick in 107 is a very deep, dark berry/wine colour. It has a matte finish and amazing pigmentation. If you are looking for a good 'night out' lipstick, this could be for you. If you are feeling particularly daring you could wear this in the daytime too!

Next up, is Revlon Colorstay Ultimate Suede Lipstick in 050 Couture. This is not as pigmented, but you can build up its coverage fairly well. I would say this has a matte finish as well which personally, I really like for the colder months. It is more of a red toned berry colour. Again, this would be great for a night out, as it lasts for ages on the lips, but if you apply just one coat of this, you could easily wear this in the day time.

Rimmel Kate Moss Lipstick in 08, is another great Autumn shade, and it's easier to wear than the previous two. It doesn't have a matte finish but it isn't overly shiny. The colour is a dusky pink/rose colour and this is very wearable. For me this kind of my 'your lips but better' shade, and its the one I find myself reaching for the most.

Benefit Benetint, is a really beautiful shade. It leaves your lips looking stained, almost as if you have just eaten a red berry, which I think looks really beautiful. This is so easy to wear, and you can tone it down, or add more coats of this to make your lips really pop!

Keep your eyes peeled for reviews on the Kate Moss Lipsticks very soon on my blog:)

So, there are some ways that you can switch up your makeup bag this Autumn. If you have any of these products, then let me know what you think of them, and if you don't then are there any you want to try?

See you very soon!

September Favourites 2013

Bonjour!

I say that this at the start of all my favourite posts, and I have been doing them since February, but this month has flown by! A lot happenes in September, and this year I started College, got a new Job and got my new room sorted! Anyway, on to my favourites!

I will start with beauty favs :) I didn't have that many this month, as I haven't been very experimental!

Benefit "That Gal" Illuminating Face Primer
I have used this at least twice a week, and I really like it! I want to repurchase it, but I want to try their POREfessional primer first! Anyway, I put this on before foundation, and it just ensures that it stays on my face all day! Also, it brightens my face and makes me look a lot more awake than I really am! Always a bonus...

Revlon Lash Potion Grow Luscious Mascara
When I worked at my old job, (it was McWonderful! you can take a guess...) I always wore waterproof mascara because I knew it wouldn't last otherwise, but as I don't work there anymore I can wear normal mascara again and this has been my weapon of choice! It's not really a weapon, but you know what I mean! This is really volumising, and when I wear it a lot of people have said my eyelashes look really thick, which I love!

AVON True Colour Silky Eyeshadow in Blush
I've been using this as an eyshadow base this month, as it is slightly more interesting than my urban decay primer. It's a pinky/purpley colour which sounds horrific, but it actually looks really nice! It lasts really long too! You could easily wear this on its own without any eyeshadow on top and it would still look pretty :)

Revlon Lip Butter in Berry Smoothie
As its autumn now, I like to apply something on my lips rather than lip balm, but most mornings I get quite lazy! However, I have been using this for the last couple of weeks, and been loving it! I'm sure you have all heard about these by now, but if not, click here to see a full review and swatches etc etc!

L'Oreal Stay Matte and Messy Salt Spray
I have been using this when I wear my hair in a pony tail as it makes my hair look messy on purpose, and I hate my hair looking really neat! This smells really nice as well, if any of you want to see a full review of this then just leave a comment and I will :) Its no problemo.

Moving on to fashion favourites (what... i'm the most unfashionable person ever!) But this month there has been something I've been wearing over and over again...

I have a tiny obsession with flannel/checkered shirts! I usually get mine in one size up as I prefer them to be baggy! These are so easy to style, I usually wear them on their own with some leggings and boots, but you can wear them with dresses, graphic t shirts, jeans, basically anything! My favourite is the darker green one because I think it goes well with my hair! Also people compliment me when I wear them so thats always a good sign. You know who you are, and I know you are reading haha!

And finally, one more favourite, which has been my Favourite of favourites...what?

Yup, I am including my bed in my monthly favourites. I have no regrets. As you know, I moved house recently and I got a bigger room, so I got a bigger bed! I now have a double bed and I can't even tell you how comfy it is! I love how girly it looks, and the fairylights are so cute! Ahhh I could spend all day in this. In fact, I DID spend all day in it today... oops.

Jeez, that felt like a long post!! Haha there was a bit more random fav's this time, but hey ho! I hope you enjoyed this post! On a side note, I'm thinking about getting my helix pierced so if any of you have that done leave me a comment on if it was painful, and your experience :)

Thanks for reading!
